Gardens

Paris enchants with green jewels: The Parc Monceau in the noble 17th arrondissement offers winding paths for joggers and walkers. Our highlight is the Jardin du Luxembourg, known to Parisians as ‘Le Luco’, with its geometric grounds around the former royal Palais du Luxembourg, now the seat of the French Senate.

In the 5th arrondissement is the Jardin des Plantes with its impressive collection of rare plant species dating back to 1635. Nearby is the Square René-Viviani with a locust tree from 1601 - the oldest tree in Paris - and the Jardin des Arènes de Lutèce with Roman ruins. In the historic Marais district, the Jardin Rosier-Joseph-Migneret, named after a school headmaster and resistance fighter, is a quiet oasis with a rose garden between medieval walls.

The city forests - Bois de Boulogne in the west with its Shakespeare Garden and Bois de Vincennes in the east with the Parc Floral and the Zoological Garden - offer extensive natural spaces for relaxation.

In these green spaces, Paris shows its quiet side - a city that creates space for contemplation alongside urban hustle and bustle.
